Editorial

Ehsan Hosseini, PhD

Dr. Hosseini is an experienced Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Arkansas Tech University (ATU). He established the Combustion and Sustainable Energy Laboratory (ComSEL) at ATU, where he worked on several energy-related projects. Since 2020, Dr. Hosseini has been on the Elsevier Stanford list of 2% of most cited scientists globally. Before joining Arkansas Tech University, Dr. Hosseini was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Combustion and Solar Energy Laboratory with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at San Diego State University (SDSU), working on a hybrid solar thermal energy generation system funded by the Department of Energy (DOE). He received a Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees in Mechanical Engineering in 2016 and 2012, respectively. Dr. Hosseini has published more than 100 scientific papers in the energy and Thermofluids fields in high-ranked international journals (Google Scholar). In 2022, he edited the book titled “ Fundamentals of Low Emission Flameless Combustion and Its Applications” (published by Elsevier). In 2023, his book “Fundamentals of Hydrogen Production and Utilization in Fuel Cell Systems” was published by Elsevier. In 2024, his book titled “Hydrogen Diplomacy” was published by Future Publishing LLC. Dr. Hosseini has over eight years of work experience in power generation systems. Dr. Hosseini is the Editor-in-chief of the Future Energy (FUEN) Journal.

Amin Mahmoudzadeh Andwari, PhD

Dr. Amin Mahmoudzadeh Andwari is an Associate Professor at the University of Oulu, a Docent Adjunct Professor at the University of Vaasa, and a visiting researcher at Brunel University London. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2014. Dr. Andwari’s research focuses on the development of advanced propulsion systems in the transportation sector, with a particular emphasis on integrating renewable and sustainable energy resources into low-carbon automotive powertrains. His expertise encompasses advanced combustion technologies e.g., RCCI, LTC, thermal management of batteries BTMS and combustion engines, energy management systems for battery and hybrid electric vehicles, alternative and green fuels e.g., hydrogen, ammonia, biodiesel, alcohol, and exhaust waste heat recovery systems e.g., ORC, sCO2, turbocharging. Dr. Andwari is the Editor-in-chief of the Future Technology (FUTECH) Journal.

Hadi Nabipour Afrouzi, PhD

Dr. Hadi is a distinguished academic and engineer with a comprehensive background in electronic and electrical engineering. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Engineering in 2005 from Iran, followed by a Master of Electrical Engineering (2011) and a PhD (2015) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).Dr. Hadi is a registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and holds the status of Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with Engineers Australia. Dr. Hadi spearheads projects related to sustainable energy and environmental solutions. His research focuses on Renewable Energy, including system sizing, optimization, and hybrid systems, as well as high voltage engineering, particularly the partial discharge phenomenon, and fault modeling in high voltage insulators. His scholarly work includes numerous journal papers, conference papers, book chapters, and technical articles published in prestigious, high-ranked journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus. Dr. Hadi has also made significant contributions to the academic community as an Editorial Board member and reviewer for national and international conferences and journals. He has delivered keynote talks at international conferences on topics such as renewable energy and electric vehicle waste, further establishing his expertise in these areas. He completed a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching (Higher Education) from Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia. From 2017 to 2024, Dr. Hadi served as a Senior Lecturer at Swinburne University of Technology (Sarawak Campus), where he was also the Head of the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering from 2020 to 2024. During his tenure, he successfully led the program through an accreditation exercise under Engineers Australia and enhanced lab facilities for renewable energy. Dr. Hadi has been actively involved in faculty and university service, including roles as the Research Education Advisor, a member of the Faculty Research Committee, the Staff Recreation Committee (SRC), and the Student Progress Review Committee. Dr. Afrouzi is the Editor-in-chief of the Future Sustainability (FUSUS) Journal.
